Aftershock Festival

Aftershock Festival

THE STORY

Aftershock is one of the largest rock and metal festivals in North America — tens of thousands of attendees, dozens of artists, and 30+ brand sponsor activations running simultaneously across the festival grounds.

Every sponsor has invested real money in a presence most people walk past. The brief: build a dedicated content pipeline for the sponsorship side of the festival. Give every activation the same quality of coverage the main stage receives. Deliver same-day assets that allow brands to participate in the live festival conversation in real time.

THE WORK

Covering 30+ activations in a weekend isn't a photography challenge — it's a production management challenge. Pre-festival prep meant building a priority hierarchy before the gates opened: which moments can't be missed, which activations have flexible windows, and how to route through the grounds without losing critical opportunities.

Two modes drive the work: observation and activation. Sometimes the content is already happening. Other times, the moment needs to be created — directing talent, encouraging interaction, finding the angle that transforms documentation into storytelling. Same-day turnaround on 2–3 reels per day, plus photo coverage, delivered while the event is still running.

THE OUTCOME

3 consecutive seasons of Aftershock Festival coverage. 30+ brand sponsor activations documented per weekend, with same-day delivery across every engagement.

The scope of the engagement expanded year over year — more activations, broader access, deeper integration with the event's core marketing pipeline.

BY THE NUMBERS

3 consecutive seasons — 30+ brand activations per weekend — 2 to 3 reels delivered same day — System of a Down, Slipknot, Alice in Chains, Rob Zombie and more documented.
